The annual All-State Art Symposium is dedicated to promoting and recognizing the creative talents of high school students from Georgia's school districts. The symposium's workshops, juried exhibition and other events provide high school students with cultural opportunities, develop advanced studio skills, and cultivate aesthetic appreciation while recognizing excellence in high school art education. Through the dynamic symposium, students, parents and teachers celebrate creativity and the symbiotic relationship of art and society.

The Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) sponsors a District Honor Band and an All-State Band annually to showcase the most talented students in each district and in the state of Georgia.  Students are selected for participation by an extremely competitive audition process.  They then participate in an honor band clinic consisting of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday which is conducted by a nationally recognized music educator.  This event culminates in an unforgettable concert, which was prepared in only a few days.

All State Chorus is a statewide choral event that takes place at the Classic Center in Athens, GA. The top 7th-12th grade students in the state are selected through an audition process that takes place locally. If a student passes both rounds of the audition, they get the opportunity to travel to Athens, GA for a weekend of singing, performing, and memories!
    There are 2 rounds of auditions. The first audition evaluates the student's voice and his or her ability to sight sing music. The student will be expected to sing the major, natural minor, and chromatic scales and the memorized solo that the Georgia Music Educators' Association (GMEA) chooses. He or she will also be given 3 sight singing examples to perform after only 30 seconds of practice time per example.

Georgia All-State is a special event organized by the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) and allows high caliber students from all over the state to work together with nationally renowned conductors in music education. The 3-day event is held in Athens, Georgia, around late February/Early March.
 The first audition is held at the district level and students must pass with a minimum score of 55 out of 80 to proceed to the second round. Students are ranked based on their second round audition performance scores which determine their selection into the Georgia All-State Orchestra.

From the Georgia Thespians website: “We are so excited about this year’s Opening Production! We will rehearse/perform live, but auditions/interviews will be done by video submission. All-State Theatre Opening Production is a show that is created to enhance the theme of the conference and to showcase the amazingly talented thespians of our state. This opportunity is open to inducted thespian performers and technicians.  Students audition to be a part of this production which is put together in a few, rigorous rehearsals.  The students who are selected will participate in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. During the closing ceremonies performers will perform a song and the technicians will run tech.”

One Act Play is a Region event in all classifications.
1. Each school wishing to enter One Act Play must electronically submit notification of entry at GHSA MIS no later than October 1.
2. Principals must review the school's play and approve the notification of entry stating that the presentation is acceptable and approved to represent the school in the competition.
3. Region winners must be determined by the date indicated in the Beginning and Ending Dates table at the front of this publication, and the Region Secretary must file the winner of the Region competition electronically at GHSA MIS immediately following the Region competition.
4. GHSA One Act Play is an acting composition. Emphasis should be on acting, not on technical elements.
5. One Act Play Directors designated by each GHSA school MUST complete an annual online One Act Play Coaches Clinic or the school will be fined. Supporting coaches are encouraged to complete the clinic.
6. Admission may not be charged for One Act Play competitions.
7. No photography or video or audio recording is allowed of any One Act Play performance.

Presented by the Georgia Music Educators Association, Large Group Performance Evaluation is the annual assessment of student achievement by each school music ensemble. Directors choose music literature that will demonstrate the various fundamental performance standards and concepts in the curriculum. The degree of literature difficulty ranges from Grade Level 1 for a novice performer, to Grade Level VI for the advanced college-level performer.

The literary competition is an annual event run by the Georgia High School Association, in which high school students from around the region compete in events that include writing, public speaking, acting, and singing. If the students perform well at the regional level, they will be sent to a state-wide competition.

The Georgia Governor’s Honors Program (GHP) is a residential summer program for gifted and talented high school students who will be rising juniors and seniors during the program.  The program offers instruction that is significantly different from the typical high school classroom. It is designed to provide students with academic, cultural, and social enrichment necessary to become the next generation of global critical thinkers, innovators, and leaders.
GHP is held in mid-summer (mid-June to mid-July) as a residential educational experience on a college or university campus. Students attend classes in the mornings and afternoons in specific areas of study, and they participate in a wide variety of social and instructional opportunities every evening. Meals and rooms are provided by the program. The only required and expected costs to the students are: travel expenses to and from the interviews; a few basic supplies for classes and dorm rooms; and spending money as desired during the program.            https://gosa.georgia.gov/governors-honors-program
 

Tapestry is an annual exhibition of artworks created by the student artists in Gwinnett County Public Schools.  This event takes place each year from the end of February through the end of March. Each cluster exhibits at the ISC for approximately a week, and the Tapestry Exhibit spans four (4) weeks.
